Our prestigious Jacobs Well Court development was started in 2015, and completed when Jacobs Well Court was finished in 2017. The development got its name from the well which was discovered during construction; according to a local historian this well served the Ryhill area, and its sympathetic but challenging restoration was one of the unexpected highlights of the project.
The development itself is comprised of a Jacobean farm house renovation, and the erection of seven new homes, all of which were designed and built to compliment the Farmhouse and surrounding area. We worked closely with English Heritage to identify historic material and installation methods, so we could incorporate horse hair render, oak beams and lime putty skim amongst many other traditional techniques that are in danger of being lost. The resulting development is a stunning blend of almost extinct artisan craftsmanship and modern building technology which makes for a beautiful addition to this most historic of settings.
